Satay Cauliflower Bites

This is an amazing snack when you have people over or for dinner when you can't be bothered to cook a full meal!
Adjust the sriracha to taste as these are spicy!

  • Yields: 2-4 depending on the reason



900g cauliflower cut into small florets

1/2 cup (70g) flour

1/2 cup (113ml) water

Hot Sauce

2 tsp oil

1/4 cup (60ml) Sriracha or other hot sauce

1/4 cup (60ml) rice vinegar

1/3 tsp soy sauce or tamari

Satay sauce

1/4 cup warm water

1/4 cup + 2 tbsp peanut butter (Or cashew butter)

2 tbsp rice vinegar

2 tbsp lime juice

2 tsp fresh minced ginger

1 tsp soy sauce or tamari

1 tsp maple or agave syrup


1Heat oven to 220 degrees

2Grease a baking tin

3Whisk together the flour and water until it forms a smooth batter

4Mix in the cauliflower until coated and spread on the baking tin

5Roast for 15 - 20 mins, shaking half way through

6Mix all hot sauce ingredients in a pan and heat up until just a simmer then turn off

7Whisk together the peanut butter and water

8Then add all the other ingredients and mix up. Leave in the fridge

9After 15-20 mins tip the cauliflower into a bowl and mix with the hot sauce

10Put cauliflower back into the baking tin and cook for about another 5 minutes

11Serve with the satay sauce
