Tattie Scones
AuthorKeith HubnerDifficultyBeginner
Ingredients
- 225g Leftover mash potato
- 65g Plain Flour
- Salt and vegan butter
Instructions
- 1
The amount of flour needed will depend on how much leftover mash you have. The above quantities give you an idea of the ratio of mash to flour.
- 2
Add the flour to the mash and mix well, you should have a dough like texture which is easy to manage and not sticky
- 3
Grab a large chopping board and cover with a bit of flour, so it doesn't stick when you roll it
- 4
Roll the mixture out to about 2-3mm thick (depends how you like your tatties!)
- 5
Grab a small plate or saucer and cut around it to make a nice circle
- 6
Then cut into even wedges
- 7
Prick the wedges with a fork
- 8
Put a little bit of oil in a pan on a medium heat
- 9
Cook the scones for 4-5mins each side (keep an eye on them, they should be a lovely golden brown)
- 10
Serve with a pinch of salt and vegan butter
