Tattie Scones

225g Leftover mash potato

65g Plain Flour

Salt and vegan butter



1The amount of flour needed will depend on how much leftover mash you have. The above quantities give you an idea of the ratio of mash to flour.


1Add the flour to the mash and mix well, you should have a dough like texture which is easy to manage and not sticky

2Grab a large chopping board and cover with a bit of flour, so it doesn't stick when you roll it

3Roll the mixture out to about 2-3mm thick (depends how you like your tatties!)

4Grab a small plate or saucer and cut around it to make a nice circle

5Then cut into even wedges

6Prick the wedges with a fork

7Put a little bit of oil in a pan on a medium heat

8Cook the scones for 4-5mins each side (keep an eye on them, they should be a lovely golden brown)

9Serve with a pinch of salt and vegan butter
